What Is Meditation? And How It Helped Me

Meditation is a practice where an individual uses a technique – such as mindfulness, or focusing the mind on a particular object, thought, or activity – to train attention and awareness, and achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm and stable state. Scholars have found meditation elusive to define, as practices vary both between traditions and within them. Meditation is practiced in numerous religious traditions. The earliest records of meditation are found in the ancient Indian texts known as the Vedas, and meditation plays a salient role in the contemplative repertoire of Hinduism and Buddhism. Since the 19th century, Asian meditative techniques have spread to other cultures where they have also found application in non-spiritual contexts, such as business and health. Meditation may significantly reduce stress, anxiety, depression, and pain, and enhance peace, perception, self-concept, and well-being. 


So the year was 2020 and the world had gone into a pandemic with covid19, Most of the world had to stay in to keep themselves safe and stop the spread of this various.

This put most of the world into the biggest depressive and suicidal state the world had ever seen, I was one of the storage people who had to work through it, but this did not stop me from being scared and because I would no go out and see my friends a bit depressed also.

Then in July, I started learning about mindfulness and well-being, which helped me to reset my emotional clock and start to bring me back to the happy go lucky person I once was.

I learned that a little bit of exercise even if it was just walking 10,000 steps a day along with gratitude, compaction and meditation all known as lifeXT.

During this time I was looking up some mindfulness and meditation app for my phone or computer but kept find they all had apps and wanted to charge a lot to use them after a period of time.

The app has helped me to centre my mind and bring me back to a happier mental state and it also helped me see the world anew, I really recommend you go use them, they have a great app and community that are always looking for people to give them ideas on how to improve.
